Pamela A. Aguilar is director of programming and development for PBS. In this role she identifies, develops and oversees the production of original content and acquisitions for PBS Primetime in the genres of science, history, natural history, culture, independent film and a segment of scripted. She also co-curates the PBS partner documentary series’ POV, Independent Lens and LPB’s VOCES.
Prior to joining PBS, Aguilar worked as an independent writer, producer, director creating innovative content on race relations, education, social justice, pop-culture and health for national primetime television and the web. Her television career began in TV commercial production where she worked on top brand named client advertising and marketing campaigns. She loves getting lost in distant lands, her toes in the sand, making new friends, trying new foods, and collaborating on all things creative!
