Robert Katz has more than 27 years experience in worldwide film production, development and finance. Katz’s track record includes working on more than 25 motion pictures alongside highly accomplished writers, directors, actors and crews - with 13 Academy Award nominations, 3 wins and more than $850,000,000 in world wide revenues.
Recently, Katz produced the feature film, “The 33”. The movie was filmed in Colombia and in Chile.
Prior to that, Katz was President Of Production at The Film Department where he oversaw acquisitions, development and production. During that time, he produced “Law-Abiding Citizen”, “The Rebound” and “Earthbound”.
Preceding The Film Department, Katz produced “Slipstream” which was written, directed and starred Sir Anthony Hopkins.
Katz also served as the head of Production at the Yari Film Group, where he oversaw the production of 18 films over a period of 2 1⁄2 years, including the 2006 Academy Award wining best picture, “Crash” as well as “The Illusionist”, “Prime”, “The Matador”, “Hostage”, “The Hoax “The Painted Veil”, and “Dave Chappelle’s Block Party.
Prior to joining the Yari Film Group, Katz supervised production on such hit films as “Seabiscuit” and “One Hour Photo”.
