Hector Galán is an independent documentary filmmaker based in Austin, Texas. He has contributed over forty hours of programming to the national PBS schedule, including eleven films for the PBS series FRONTLINE, two films for The American Experience, the landmark PBS series, Chicano! History of the Mexican American Civil Rights Movement, and the six episode series Visiones: Latino Art & Culture. PBS aired Galan’s feature documentary, Los Lonely Boys, Cottonfields and Crossroads in 2007 and Children of Giant in 2015. Ancient Roads form Christ to Constantine is currently airing on PBS nation-wide. Willie Velasquez Empowering the People, a documentary about the man who started a grassroots movement that paved the way for Latino political power is currently in production and will be part of the PBS Election line-up in the Fall 2016.
